The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) is seeking your feedback on its draft Quality Assurance Section of the General Regulation (QA Regulation). The QA Section of the General Regulation (O. Reg. 544/94) sets out CMTO’s legal framework for ensuring registrants maintain competence and provide quality care to patients. CMTO is proposing changes to the QA Section to:
- Reflect the current STRiVE program, and the risk-based approach to practice assessment;
- Align it with the language used in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). The language in the regulation is older than what is used in the RHPA leading to inconsistencies between CMTO’s legal framework and day-to-day operations;
- Ensure flexibility and agility to address issues requiring a proactive or quick response by using policies and other tools instead of making regulation changes.
Please review the draft QA Section of the General Regulation for more information.
You are invited to provide feedback until November 30, 2026 by filling out the survey. If you have any questions, please email feedback@cmto.com. You may also join the discussion by submitting your comments on our discussion board below.
We value your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to participate in this consultation.
