Board Elections
What is CMTO’s Board?
The Board is the governing body of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). All Board members have a fiduciary duty to serve and protect the public interest.
Board members play a key role in helping the College fulfil its mandate. They set strategic direction, make decisions about how the profession is regulated in Ontario and contribute their expertise to develop standards and policies that support safe, competent and ethical practice.
2026 Board Elections Results
The 2026 CMTO Board elections in Districts 2, 5, and 7 were held from August 28 to September 30, 2026. One Registered Massage Therapist/Massage Therapist (RMT/MT) from each district was elected to serve on the College’s Board.
CMTO Board members:
- Set strategic direction for safe, ethical Massage Therapy care in Ontario.
- Review and approve policies that protect the public.
- Serve the public interest.
- Represent their district.
CMTO is pleased to announce the results of the 2026 Board elections. Thank you to all candidates who stood for election and to everyone who participated in the voting process.
The following are the individuals who have been elected to serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2027:
District 2 Elected: Marta Hanrahan, RMT
Composed of the territorial district of Nipissing, the counties of Renfrew, Hastings, Prince Edward, Frontenac and Lanark, the united counties of Lennox and Addington, Leeds and Grenville, Prescott and Russell, Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry and the regional municipality of Ottawa-Carleton, excluding the postal codes that are in District 3.
District 5 Re-Elected: Tammy Contois, RMT
Composed of the counties of Simcoe, Dufferin, Wellington, Halton and Peel, and postal codes beginning with L0K, N0B, excluding the postal codes that are in District 3.
District 7 Elected: Parisa Carello, RMT
Composed of academic members
Congratulations to Marta, Tammy, and Parisa! They will join a committed team of RMTs/MTs and public members who work together to protect the public interest, maintain trust in Massage Therapy, and build confidence in Massage Therapy regulation.
