Register to Attend the Webinar on Understanding Intimate Partner Violence

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), in partnership with other members of the Health Profession Regulators of Ontario, is hosting a free virtual webinar for registrants titled Understanding Intimate Partner Violence (IPV): Recognition, Response and Resources. The session will cover intimate partner violence, including intimate partner homicide involving firearms, and how regulated professionals can respond. In this free virtual webinar, participants will:
- Examine the role of regulated professionals in recognizing risk and responding appropriately to IPV;
- Increase their awareness of risk factors associated with IPV, including aging, substance use, declining physical, cognitive and mental health, family dynamics and access to firearms;
- Explore approaches to intimate partner violence risk assessment in practice; and
- Learn about reporting obligations and privacy considerations, including guidance informed by the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
