Run for Board (Districts 1, 6, and 9)

Board elections in Districts 1, 6 and 9 are taking place Wednesday, September 24, 2025. One Registered Massage Therapist (RMT/MT) from each district will be elected to serve on the College’s Board.

Key Dates:

  • Application Deadline: August 15, 2025 (5 p.m. ET)
  • Voting Period: Between August 22 and September 24, 2025
  • Board Elections: September 24, 2025

How to run:

  1. Complete the mandatory College Orientation Program
  2. Prepare the Nomination Form
  3. Complete the Application (takes about 15-20 minutes) by August 15, 2025 (5 p.m. ET)

As a CMTO Board member, you:

  • Set strategic direction for safe, ethical Massage Therapy care in Ontario
  • Review and approve policies that protect the public
  • Serve the public interest
  • Represent your district:
    • District 1: Kenora, Rainy River, Thunder Bay, Cochrane, Algoma, Manitoulin, Sudbury, Timiskaming
    • District 6: Grey, Bruce, Huron, Perth, Oxford, Elgin, Kent, Middlesex, Lambton, Essex
    • District 9: Toronto (east of Yonge Street + postal codes: M2M, M2N, M2P, M4N, M4P, M4S, M4T, M4W, M4Y, M5B, M5C, M5E)

Apply for Non-Board Committees

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) is looking for RMTs/MTs to serve on Committees as non-Board members for a one-year term beginning January 1, 2026.

Why join?

  • Influence policies, Standards of Practices, and decisions affecting RMTs/MTs.
  • Compensation: $275 per diem (virtual meetings, reimbursed travel if needed).

Roles available:

  • Professional Members (RMTs/MTs)
  • Public Members (Ontario residents)
    Term: January 1 – December 31, 2026

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ontario residency required
  • No current RMTAO/affiliate organization roles
  • No CMTO employment (past 3 years)
  • Professional Only: Active registration, no disciplinary proceedings
  • Full requirements: By-Law No. 6

Compensation:

  • $275 per diem
  • Travel expenses reimbursed
  • Primarily virtual meetings
