Chandra Babu Bala Sri Not Permitted to Practise, Under CMTO Investigation due to Sexual Assault Charges

TORONTO, January 22, 2025 – The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) confirms that it is investigating Chandra Babu Bala Sri, who is charged with two counts of sexual assault.

Pursuant to an Undertaking signed with the Toronto Police Service, Chandra Babu Bala Sri is not permitted to practise Massage Therapy in Ontario.

“CMTO’s primary responsibility is to protect the public. This registrant’s inability to practise Massage Therapy is a critical step in public protection as these sexual assault charges progress through the criminal justice system. We are actively investigating these allegations, cooperating with the Toronto Police Service, and we encourage anyone with concerns about registrants to report them to CMTO,” said Maureen Boon, CMTO’s Registrar and CEO.
