Tim Potts Not Permitted to Practise, Under CMTO Investigation due to Sexual Assault Charge

TORONTO, May 7, 2025 – The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) confirms that it is investigating Tim Potts, who is charged with one count of sexual assault by the Barrie Police Service.
Pursuant to an Undertaking signed with CMTO, Tim Potts is not permitted to practise Massage Therapy in Ontario.

“CMTO is committed to public safety. We are cooperating fully with the Barrie Police Service and conducting our own investigation. Through an Undertaking signed with CMTO, the registrant is not permitted to practise Massage Therapy while these charges move through the criminal justice system. Our priority is to ensure accountability and protect the public,” said Maureen Boon, CMTO’s Registrar and CEO.
