CMTO Releases 2025 Annual Report

April 10, 2026

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) is pleased to announce the release of the 2025 Annual Report. This year was shaped by our connections with Registered Massage Therapists/Massage Therapists (RMTs/MTs), educators and students, and important updates to our standards.

Fostered Engagement:

We continued fostering meaningful engagement with RMTs/MTs, educators, and students by hosting several events across Ontario, including Town Halls, and visiting Massage Therapy colleges.

Sexual Abuse Prevention:

We hosted our 2025 Prevention of Sexual Abuse Seminar which engaged male RMTs/MTs who are educators and leaders in the profession to address the high number of sexual abuse complaints we receive about this demographic.

Regulation Modernization:

We amended the Client-Centred Care Standard of Practice and CMTO’s Code of Ethics to make it easier to discharge patients who engage in abusive behaviour and introduced a new Standard of Practice: Collecting Personal Health Information from Clients.

We invite you to read our new Annual Report (English PDF version) (version française) to learn more about CMTO’s work and strategic initiatives for 2025.

Note: Financial Statements approved by the Board will be appended following the June 2026 meeting.
