December 1 & 2 Board Highlights

December 2025

The Board met to close out 2025 and set the direction for the new year. Key discussions and initiatives that were approved were:

  • Approval of CMTO’s 2026-2030 Strategic Plan. After months of extensive consultation with over 3,600 community members, CMTO will be guided by the plan’s priorities and goals to fulfill its mandate to serve and protect the public interest.
  • An investigation into the feasibility of and potential development of a proposal for a new operating name and rebranding of CMTO’s public-facing identity. The purpose is to communicate the role of the College, build trust and credibility, and create a cohesive identity.
  • CMTO’s 2026 Operating Budget.
  • Amendments to By-Law No. 2 and No. 6 that removes the provision disqualifying individuals contracted by the College from serving as non-Board committee members. This change will enable CMTO to expand the pool of eligible candidates to serve on the Board and its Committees.
  • An amendment to By-law No. 8 that allows CMTO to share a registrant’s registration number with health insurance providers and removal of where and what year an RMT/MT graduated from their educational institution on their public register.
  • Approved 2026 Committee Slate.
