John Ackerman – CMTO Confirms Investigation into Sexual Assault Charges

TORONTO, January 31, 2019 – It has recently come to the attention of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) that John Ackerman, former Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), has been charged with three counts of sexual assault.

Mr. Ackerman is not currently able to practice Massage Therapy in Ontario. As the result of an ongoing investigation, Mr. Ackerman’s Certificate of Registration was suspended in October 2018. CMTO is continuing their investigations and will commence a new investigation into the additional two criminal charges. CMTO is cooperating with the Ottawa Police Service.
