Closure of Non-Essential Business Extended until May 6, 2020

In an effort to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19, the Government of Ontario has extended the closure of all non-essential businesses until May 6, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. You can find the order here.

The closure of non-essential businesses means all healthcare professionals in Ontario are restricted from providing anything other than emergency/urgent care. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, Massage Therapy is not emergency/urgent care, so RMTs should not practice.

CMTO is monitoring the situation daily, and we will keep RMTs informed of the latest updates, as they relate to Massage Therapy practice. CMTO will email RMTs as soon as the emergency/urgent care restrictions are lifted, and provide guidance on how to safely do so.

In the meantime, please visit the CMTO website for the most up-to-date information.
