(April 2019 Update – please watch for communications about the Quality Assurance Program launch later in 2019)
The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) has redesigned the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) to reflect best practices within the regulatory healthcare environment and to account for changes in the Massage Therapy profession. The QAP is designed to help Massage Therapists (MTs) reflect on their professional practice, and identify opportunities to ensure they can provide safe, effective, and ethical care.
As regulated healthcare professionals, MTs make a commitment to professional development and continuing education, and the new QAP will support them by:
- Assessing essential competencies of the profession;
- Promoting continuing competence and quality improvement; and
- Incorporating the Standards of Practice to better reflect healthcare and the Massage Therapy environment.
The QAP gives MTs the tools and feedback to continually improve their competence which contributes to public protection and safety.
The QAP tools are available to all General Certificate registrants and are available through the CMTO profile.
