At the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), we want to help you make informed decisions about your healthcare. One of the ways this happens is through CMTO’s public register. The public register is where you can access reliable and up-to-date information about your Massage Therapist.
Visit CMTO’s public register to learn the following details about your Massage Therapist before booking your next appointment:

Regulation of Massage Therapists
Massage Therapists are regulated health professionals overseen by CMTO. CMTO was established by the Government of Ontario to protect the public interest by:
- Setting the minimum requirements for becoming an RMT;
- Enforcing the Standards of Practice, so that you receive competent and professional treatment;
- Running a Quality Assurance Program to make sure RMTs continue developing their skills; and,
- Maintaining a reliable public register to help you verify whether the person you are visiting for a massage is a qualified RMT.
Only individuals who are registered with CMTO are legally allowed to use the following titles:
|Registered Massage Therapist||Therapeutic Massage|
