Ensuring Professional Conduct

Introduction/Message from the Registrar

It is important to know you are receiving safe, quality care from your healthcare providers. When you see a Registered Massage Therapist in the province of Ontario, you can expect to receive this high quality care from a health professional who is registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.

As the regulatory College for the Massage Therapy profession in Ontario, the College exists to protect the public interest, through setting standards for Massage Therapy education, clinical practice and the professional conduct of Registrants to ensure you receive the best possible outcomes from your Massage Therapy care. If it becomes necessary, the College is also responsible for dealing with complaints about the care received in a timely, fair and transparent manner.

This website is one way in which the College seeks to educate and support the public and Massage Therapists in partnering for quality care. Through the website, we provide important information for you about the role of the College, how Registered Massage Therapists practise, what you can expect from a registrant of the College, and how the College can help if you have a concern or complaint. The website also maintains a “Register” which provides specific information about Registrants to help you make decisions about who to obtain your care from.
