Charges of Professional Misconduct
- Sexual abuse of a client;
- Contravening a standard of practice of the profession or a published standard of the College or failing to maintain the standard of practice of the profession;
- Engaging in conduct or performing an act, in the course of practising the profession, that, having regard to all circumstances, would reasonably be regarded by members as disgraceful, dishonourable, or unprofessional
- Abusing a client verbally or physically
A hearing did not proceed as the member entered into an Undertaking with the College, which required him to resign from the College and agree not to engage in the practice of Massage Therapy in either the province of Ontario or any other jurisdiction. The member also agreed not to apply for a Certificate of Registration in this or any other jurisdiction within Canada and the United States. The member admitted to the accuracy of the allegations against him as well as the documentation provided in support of the allegations which established his conduct could be regarded by members of the profession as disgraceful, dishonourable and unprofessional. The member consented to publication of the allegations against him.
The Panel accepted the member’s Undertaking and Acknowledgement.
