Annual Renewal – Now Open: Renew your Certificate of Registration for 2021

The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) 2021 annual registration renewal is now open. You can renew your Certificate of Registration through the Registrant Login section of CMTO’s website. Mobile phones and tablets are not currently supported.

You will need your College ID number and password to log in.

If you cannot remember your password, please use the “Forgot Password” function on the Registrant Login page.

What are the fees for 2021 and when are they due?

General Certificate (GC) Renewal

Due to the impact of COVID-19, GC holders can pay their renewal fee in two installments, giving you more time to submit the full renewal payment:

  • On or before November 1, 2020, registrants with a GC must submit a completed renewal form and pay the first installment of $392.50; and
  • On or before March 1, 2021, registrants with a GC must pay the second installment of $392.50 for a total payment of $785.00.

Inactive (IN) Certificate Renewal

  • Registrants with an IN certificate must submit a completed renewal form and the full $200.00 renewal fee on or before November 1, 2020.

Important Note

Late fees will not be charged for the 2021 renewal, however registrants who do not submit the renewal form and/or payment(s) by the deadlines above will receive notice that non-payment of fees may result in the suspension of their registration.


Professional Liability Insurance Requirement

The Registration Regulation under the Massage Therapy Act, 1991 states that registrants with a General Certificate of registration must maintain the amount of professional liability insurance required under College by-laws. If your insurance expires after you have completed your online renewal, you must log in again and update your information. Your CMTO profile must always include your current insurance information.


Discontinuation of Photo ID for 2021

With the discontinuation of registrant photo ID cards, CMTO will no longer be mailing renewal receipts. Registrants may download and print a copy of their renewal receipt immediately after completing renewal. You can also access a copy of your receipt by clicking on the RECEIPT tab at the top of your screen when you are logged into your CMTO profile.
