Thanks for Attending Our Open House Events
In November, we were thrilled to welcome over 220 guests to our Open House events that took place in three Electoral Districts (3,4 and 8) across Ontario.
The events served as an opportunity for us to hear from you – registrants – about your experiences in Massage Therapy, and a chance for us to exchange ideas and knowledge with you and with aspiring students and seasoned educators of the profession.
During the events, our Practice Specialist, Laura Manning, provided guidance and advice to registrants regarding issues impacting their practice. Our Registrar & CEO, Corinne Flitton, and other staff members were also on-site to discuss the College’s Strategic Plan, registration and discipline processes, explain the new Quality Assurance Program requirements, and offer a preview of our new public awareness video projects. We invite all registrants to view the newly released videos on Professional Boundaries and Five Things to Know Before Getting a Massage on our YouTube channel.
Some of our Council Members were also on hand at the events to provide more information on the role of Council Members and their responsibilities aimed at advancing the College’s mandate of protecting the public interest.
Registrants who attended received copies of our new client-focussed poster on Client’s Rights and left their feedback. If you would like to download a copy of this poster for your practice, please click here.
Based on the survey responses we received, a majority of attendees reported that they were pleased with CMTO’s Open House events. Most visitors enjoyed the informal atmosphere of the events and found the College’s staff knowledgeable and approachable. Some registrants felt the timing of the Open House events (both time of day and time of year) needed to be reconsidered in the future to account for varying schedules of registrants.
On behalf of the College’s Council and staff, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank all attendees who took the time out of their busy schedules to stop by our Open House events to learn more about our College and meet our team. Please keep an eye out for our future communications regarding events near you in 2019.
