Message from the Registrar: A Look Forward

Spring 2018

By Corinne Flitton, RMT, Registrar & CEO

As we head into Spring, a number of pivotal initiatives are underway at the College.

Last year, we set the stage for the new Quality Assurance Program (QAP). We developed a framework that will be the foundation of the new QAP, which will continue to take shape this year. The QAP will be grounded on the updated Standards of Practice and Essential Competencies with the view to support the practice and improvement of safe, ethical and evidence-informed Massage Therapy practice.

In 2017, we also made a concerted effort to enhance transparency and accountability to ensure the College effectively continues to protect the public interest by broadening information access to the public. As one example, we released our Council Agenda Packages online ahead of each Council meeting date. Over the coming months, we will continue on the path to achieving our Transparency Goal as part of the final phase of our Strategic Plan (2016-18).

We are excited for the various engagement and feedback opportunities that 2018 has in store for the College. We will be augmenting our current consultation activities, by utilizing a Citizen’s Advisory Group and town hall meetings, to give the public, RMTs, and clients new opportunities to voice their views and provide feedback on our policies, Standards and initiatives.

This year, we will continue the important work outlined in our Strategic Plan (2016-18) and measure outcomes that have been achieved.

We look forward to another productive and transformative year ahead!
