CMTO Welcomes New Deputy Registrar!

CMTO is delighted to welcome Maureen Boon as our new Interim Deputy Registrar.
Maureen is a seasoned executive with extensive knowledge of the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991 (RHPA). Maureen joins us with experience at the College of Optometrists of Ontario, where she held the position of Registrar & CEO. Beforehand, Maureen worked with the College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSO) as Director of Governance and Strategy. Over her 20 years with CPSO, she led multiple cross-functional teams and external projects that achieved significant results. Further, Maureen developed corporate plans, college-wide key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms, and a risk management framework. She has extensive experience in strategic planning, governance, regulatory compliance and organizational leadership.
Maureen received her Honours Bachelor of Science from Queen’s University and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Toronto. Most recently, she obtained her designation from the Governance Professionals of Canada, to strengthen her ability to encourage meaningful discussion and informed decision-making with Council Members.
