Update on the Quality Assurance Program
By Marnie Lofsky, Director of Professional Practice
The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) would like to acknowledge and thank all Massage Therapists who have contributed their insight into the revision process of the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) over the past year. From providing feedback in surveys (new framework, Essential Competencies, and revised Self-Assessment Tool) to participating in Focus Groups and webinars – your feedback has helped shape the new QAP.
After extensive consultations, CMTO is excited to launch the first two QAP tools – a revised Self-Assessment Tool (SAT) and a new Action-Learning Plan (ALP). In Fall/Winter 2018, you will be able to explore the new tools and try them out in your revised profile page. During this “soft launch” phase, the new tools will not be mandatory, because we want to provide you with the opportunities to explore how they work and to comment on how we can make the experience even better for our official launch in April 2019.
With the discontinuation of the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) program, as of July 1st, 2018, you will be asked to record your professional development and learning activities in the new ALP. Any of your completed CEU activities from previous years may be entered into the new tool upon its launch.
Additional details and further instructions for the new QAP tools will be provided with the launch in Fall/Winter 2018. Please continue to watch for CMTO communications for your invitation to try the new tools and for the opportunity to provide additional feedback.
