The Quality Assurance Committee believes it is important to
let members develop in their own direction but it is also
prudent that we keep public safety and our professional reputation
our primary concern. As a result the following statement has
been applied to all approved Continuing Education Units (CEU):
“The approval of courses/workshops and related activities
for CEUs by the Quality Assurance Committee does not represent
an endorsement of a relationship between these courses and
scope of practice. Each therapist is expected to perform
and operate their practice within the parameters of ethical
and responsible means outlined in the Standards of Practice,
Code of Ethics, RHPA, MTA and Regulations. The choice of
course and/or direction of professional development is the
responsibility of the individual therapist. The College
and Quality Assurance Committee encourages therapists to
evaluate their choice of course/workshops and related activities
in terms of their benefit to the ongoing quality improvement
of their practice.”
The College does not endorse any of the programmes approved for CEUs. Courses are assessed based on the written submissions of the course provider. Any member who takes a course listed does so at his or her own risk as the College cannot guarantee the quality of the course or the instruction. Complaints about the presentation of a course approved for CEUs may be directed to the Quality Assurance Committee for investigation.
