CMTO Confirms Investigation into Sexual Assault Charge

TORONTO, January 3, 2017 – It has recently come to the attention of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) that Robert Newey, Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) practising Massage Therapy in Whitby, Ontario, has been charged with sexual assault. Robert Newey was released on a promise to appear and an officer in charge undertaking.

On January 3, 2017, CMTO commenced an investigation into these allegations. CMTO is cooperating with the Durham Regional Police Service in their investigation.
